Enabling thin client end point solutions manufacturers to work with VMware to ensure that their thin client end point solutions (hardware devices or software products) are compatible with View solutions, whether integrating the VMware Horizon Client binaries or a custom client developed to the specifications.

Program Overview

The certification program enables thin client endpoint solution manufacturers to work with VMware to ensure that their thin client end point solutions (hardware devices or software product) are compatible with View solutions.

View supports two client types: VMware and Custom. VMware clients are pre-built clients for Microsoft Windows™ or Linux or Android and are distributed as binaries. Custom clients are clients which can be developed by the thin client end point solution partners based on the VMware XML API specification.

Upon successful completion of the View thin client (or VMware Thin Client) certification process and the execution of the applicable agreements with VMware, partners can market and leverage the VMware Ready™ EUC logo in their marketing and sales efforts and gain the right to redistribute the VMware Horizon Client software.  VMware certified thin client end point solutions are posted on the VMware Compatibility Guide (VCG). This signifies joint support for end users that deploy certified thin client end point solutions with View solutions.

Program access includes the tools and resources needed during the development and release phases.

  • Access to the Horizon Client Binaries

Partners receive access to the Horizon Client binaries for Windows, Linux and Android for integration into their thin client end point solutions. 

  • Certification guide

This guide describes the certification procedures and test cases for certifying thin client devices and software image compatibility with View.

  • VMware Compatibility Guide (VCG) posting

Upon successful certification, the partner works with Ecosystem Engineering to update the VMware compatibility guide entry on vmware.com. Once the partner's products are certified under the terms of the program, the partner may use the VMware Ready™ EUC logo in product collateral as per guidelines. 

  • Program Communication

Ongoing program communications pertaining to updated clients and associated milestones.

  • Services Available

Optional Paid Development Consulting is now Available on request for partners involved with Custom Clients.

Program Requirements

This program is governed by the following requirements:

  • TAP Elite or Global status
  • VMware program agreement signature
  • Participation in the program requires the end result to be a Successful certification and posting of the corresponding thin client/end point solution on the VMware Compatibility Guide on vmware.com
  • Adherence to product support requirements as documented in the program guide
  • TSANet membership and an entry in the VMware custom TSANet portal
  • General support on Horizon (with View) and vSphere features is purchased separately.

Partner Roles and Responsibilities

Partners who participate in the program provide the following team members:

A partner program manager that acts as the primary point of contact on behalf of their team, and who acts as the lead for planning and issue prioritization with VMware.

A partner technical support contact that manages the support relationship with VMware, owns and serves as a single point of contact for all support-related activities, including escalations and management of the TSANet membership, and ensures overall support readiness and training of the partner's support organization.
