vCloud® Air is a public cloud platform built on the trusted foundation of vSphere, compatible with your on-premises data center, that includes infrastructure, disaster recovery, and various applications as service offerings.

Program Overview

The VMware vCloud Air ISV Program focuses on enabling ISVs to extend traditional, on-premise solutions to the cloud, or to develop cloud-native solutions on VMware’s vCloud Air. The vCloud Air ISV Program provides the necessary technical enablement, as well as Go to Market (GTM) and expansion opportunities through differentiation in hybrid cloud environments.

  • Validation and Certification
    • The program includes access to the program's Validation and Certification Kit, which allows partners to test the reliability and stability of their code. VMware verifies that the test results support the partner's solution running on vCloud Air during the certification process.
  • VMware Solutions Exchange
    • Upon successful completion of validation, the partner works with VMware to update the vCloud Air Marketplace on VMware Solutions Exchange. The partner is required to supply the following collateral for their marketplace listing:
      • Solution Brief (In VMware Template)
      • Customer Facing Presentation (In VMware Template)
      • Deployment Guide instructing customer how to use solution in vCloud Air environment
  • VMware Compatibility Guide (VCG) posting
    • Upon successful certification, the partner works with Ecosystem Engineering to update the VMware Compatibility Guide entry on
  • Program communication
  • Ongoing program communications pertaining to product updates, program updates, and key milestones.
Program Requirements
  • Partner is required to also be actively enrolled in VMware’s Technical Alliance Program (TAP) at the Access level.
  • Upon completion of technical validation and marketplace listing the partner will become an Access level partner in the vCloud Air ISV Program.
  • Partner is required to follow and satisfy the Program Guidelines and Agreements
  • Provide cooperative support for the qualifying Blueprints through TSANet.
  • Successful completion of Validation or Certification

Partner Roles and Responsibilities
Partners who participate in the program provide the following team members:
A program or project manager that acts as the primary point of contact on behalf of their team, and who acts as the lead for planning and issue prioritization with VMware.
An engineering manager and/or technical lead that is the primary point of contact for the partner's engineering team, reviews all VMware support requests submitted by the partner's engineering team, provides an interface to the partner's QE organization, and attends all status calls and live debugging sessions with VMware.
A technical support contact that manages the support relationship with VMware, owns and serves as a single point of contact for all support-related activities, including escalations and management of the TSANet membership, and ensures overall support readiness and training of the partner's support organization.
